Webrain ships as a single static binary and a Docker image — no runtime dependencies beyond the browser engines it manages itself.

Docker

A multi-arch docker/Dockerfile is provided, plus docker/docker-compose.yml for the full stack. Build and run:
On Windows/macOS, run engines via Docker Desktop.

Releases & versioning

  • Semantic versioning with GitHub Releases; each release ships prebuilt binaries for Linux, macOS, and Windows (webrain-linux, webrain-macos, webrain-windows.exe).
  • webrain upgrade detects the install method (Homebrew, Scoop, manual) and updates automatically.
  • CHANGELOG.md tracks changes under [Unreleased].

IDE integration

Webrain is an MCP server — there is no separate extension to publish. Any MCP-capable IDE works: Claude Desktop — claude_desktop_config.json:
